Mindfulness 101 »
The practice of mindfulness is about focusing on the present, instead of looking into the future or dwelling in the past. Generally, mindfulness involves a keen awareness of sensory stimuli (focusing on the sensations of your body, breathing etc.) and being “in the now.” Mindfulness has origins in Eastern philosophy, but there is no necessary religious element to being mindful — anyone, with any belief system, can enjoy the benefits of being mindful.
